On-going Development
On the 17th of December 2007 South Hill Centre commissioned the demolition of the original Church building to make way for a new state of the art Centre.
This new development will provide space to expand existing services and explore and develop new ones.
Throughout this re-development period existing community and Church activities are continuing in different locations around the town.
The new Centre is expected to be completed by the end of September 2008
South Hill Centre has a long established pre-school " Young Discoverers" which is now housed in the new purpose built Early Years Unit which was developed by SHC and opened in September 2006. The Early Years Unit also accommodates Heath Lane Nursery Children's Club.
Set in the scenic landscape of the campus Young Discoverers has built up a reputation from years of childcare and family support.
It has long standing relationships with a growing number of families through involvement with 2nd and 3rd siblings.
Young Discoverers has developed an excellence in the care and support of special needs children and receives many referrals from childcare professionals across the region.
Young Discoverers provides10 sessions weekly, throughout the educational year, for 30 children each session, and employs 11 qualified staff.
Since April 2007 Young Discoverers have fully adopted the Government's new Flexibility Pathfinder
